藥物敏感試驗簡稱藥敏試驗(或耐藥試驗)。旨在了解病原微生物對各種抗生素的敏感(或耐受)程度,以指導臨床合理選用抗生素藥物的微生物學試驗。一種抗生素如果以很小的劑量便可抑制、殺滅致病菌,則稱該種致病菌對該抗生素“敏感”。反之,則稱為“不敏感”或“耐藥”。為了解致病菌對哪種抗菌素敏感,以合理用藥,減少盲目性,往往應進行藥敏試驗。其大致方法是:從病人的感染部位採取含致病菌的標本,接種在適當的培養基上,於一定條件下培養;同時將分別沾有一定量各種抗生素的紙片貼在培養基表面(或用不鏽鋼圈,內放定量抗生素溶液),培養一定時間後觀察結果。由於致病菌對各種抗生素的敏感程度不同,在藥物紙片周圍便出現不同大小的抑制病菌生長而形成的“空圈”,稱為抑菌圈。抑菌圈大小與致病菌對各種抗生素的敏感程度成正比關係。於是可以根據試驗結果有針對性地選用抗生素。近年已有自動化的藥敏試驗儀器問世,使試驗更加迅速、準確。目前濫用抗生素,致使抗藥菌增加,甚至因長期大量使用廣譜抗生素,殺傷體內正常微生物,失去微生物的相互制約作用,從而使一些少見的或一般情況下的非致病菌大量繁殖,引起所謂“二次感染”的情況屢有發生,給治療造成人為的困難。因此,提倡使用藥敏試驗,堅持合理用藥十分重要。
